Somewhat to their own surprise the Lions won the 3rd Manchester invitational tournament which was again hosted by the eventual winners at their Trafford Metrovicks base.
Four teams, the Lions, Dodgers, Mutineers and Growlers played a round robin followed by a final.
The Lions won 2 out of 3 round robin games before meeting the Dodgers in the final.
The Dodgers leapt out to an early lead but the Lions steadily pegged them back before taking the lead for the first time in the top of the 7th. It looked as if that 2 run advantage might not be enough when the first two Dodgers batters got on base but the Lions kept their nerve and closed the game down.
